as a human as an architecture
There are gaps between the world and architectural thinking and thus an architectural thinking that looks to the world to bridge that gap.
In the 50’s, John Summerson called it a “mischief”:
"he [sic] has for some reason or another stepped out of his role, taken a look at the scene around him and then become obsessed with the importance not of architecture, but of the relation of architecture to other things."
I’ve heard this put down so many times in so many ways (within architectural context), but it’s a space I want to occupy unashamedly.
